Objective page description

  • A handwritten page with cursive text recounting personal experiences during military service in Bermuda, mentions of various places and individuals, a note about a 36 month duration, and a medical treatment. The handwriting is moderately legible but some words are faded or unclear. There is a vertical strip on left side with '36 mos' and the main body text starts with 'I was sent to Bermuda...'.

  • When I was discharged from Ft. Monmouth New Jersey I was sent home to a empty house.
  • My mother had an nervous breakdown - Sidney Dubin - a candy store owner told me where she was -
  • She was in NURSING HOME IN ASTORIA Queens -
  • When I arrived there I saw her my mother was - I then asked the doctor because she was he told me not any good.
  • They HAD TO give her a shock treatment for many days -
  • When I saw her again she seemed better. She stayed there for about 1 year.
  • They sent her home on and off - finally she passed away Sept 16 - 1960 - in a hospital in Hempstead L.I.
